Labor force participation rate comparison

Some food for thought:  US labor force participation has been in a negative trend for the past 10 years.  Compare that to Japan, which has had negative demographics/economic growth for decades and has seen a long term downtrend in labor force participation.

On an absolute basis, I thought it's interesting to compare our labor force participation to the latest sick man of Europe, Italy.  Italy has a labor force participation rate of less than 50%--amazing!  It's no wonder that the quasi-socialist state has such a high debt/GDP ratio.
